Magnets are not actually resistant to the mouth, as they usually corrode quickly. We therefore protect our magnets from saliva and the associated influences in the oral cavity with a laser-welded titanium coating. We only use surgical titanium, which is an established material for implants and implant abutments worldwide.
The natural oxide layer on the titanium surface protects against further oxidation, while the chemical resistance to acids and alkalis provides additional protection.
